It was time for the second round of the country series in 2018. I went for a practice on Easter weekend in preparation for the event. I am not a huge fan of the track mainly because of the kerbs, bumpy surface and turn 2 having a dirt trap rather than a gravel trap. We had 25 entries, 1 over the track density which is a problem. I raced in group B for the weekend, therefore participating in 2/3 heat 2 and 2/3 heat 3, as well as making the final.
Entries:
Riley JABKE 44
Keean FERGUSON 46

Qualifying
I qualified 14th which meant I started 9th and 10th. I was on track behind Keean which made me not go as hard due to him battling with Zaiden and me wanting to leave space.
Heat 1
In heat 1 I started 9th but dropped to 10th due to Ben Moss getting a better start and stayed there until lap 2 where i ran wide at turn 2 dropping to 11th.
Heat 2
I started 10th but dropped 2 spots off the start putting me in 12th and thats where I finished. Towards the end I got a hole in my fuel line and was lucky to finish.
Final
I started 17th for the final but I dropped to 19th off the start and had carby issues all race, unable to defend or race hard. I managed to stay in 19th until lap 8 where Keean was stopped and just getting going again, and then passed by Noah on lap 11 and was back in 19th until lap 13 where Keean got me back and I ended 20th.
Overall, it was an ok weekend, I was pitted with Jai Sparey (Ka3 Senior Light) John Reynolds (Ka3 Senior Medium, Lotem Ben Yosef and Kai Upiter (Ka3 Junior). I spent time with Toby Waghorn (Ka4 Junior Light) as well.
A good weekend but looking to redeem myself at Round 3.
